Day 2 - Sleep deprivation? Who us?

After our power nap we set out from our flat to find an open top bus tour. It's a beautiful day here, so we thought it would be a great way to see the city without having to expend too much energy. And it was...until it began to rock us to sleep!

We jumped off the bus near St. Paul's and began our sightseeing at the cathedral. We were fortunate to be there as one of the pastors led everyone present in a moment of silence and then the Lord's Prayer, as they do every day at 3pm. Then we climbed the steps to the dome of the cathedral. I stopped short of the upper dome, but Tim and the boys climbed the 528 steps to the top for stunning views of the city just as a thunderstorm hit.

Afterward we made our way through rush hour traffic via bus and tube to the British Museum. They have late hours on Friday. Before a rushed pass through the Egyptian, Greek, and Roman Galleries, we ate traditional British fare at the Museum Tavern across the street. Bangers and mash anyone?

Now we are back to our flat...thankful for a hot shower, a king-size bed, and eight hours ahead for sleep, glorious sleep!

What a lovely second day. What perfect timing at St. Paul's Cathedral. Tim and I are ready to go back for a service now. I hope you got good sleep. Those first few does can certainly throw you out of sorts with jet lag. Continuing to pray for safety and maximum enjoyment. Can't wait to see you!!!
